Hoisin Ham ‘n’ Cheese

This Ham ‘n’ Cheese was served with Sweet Corn Chicken Soup and was delicious! The recipe is from Aarti Sequira of Aarti Party on the FoodNetwork. And as you know… I am now looking for the minimal recipes given that my newborn consumes most of my waking hours. I tweaked the recipe slightly to work better for our flavor…
Serves 4
  1. 1.In a medium bowl, mix together 2 cups shredded Pepper Jack cheese, 3 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce, 4 tbsp minced fresh cilantro, 1/2 tsp sesame oil along with 2 scallions, sliced very thinly.
  2. 2.To make the sandwich, warm a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Lay 2 slices ofcooked ham on rye bread, spoon 1/4 of the cheese filling and grilled the sandwich with the bread buttered on the outside.
  3. 3.Press down to compress the sandwich and let some of the cheese ooze out.

Enjoy and serve with Sweet Corn Chicken Soup.
